and concord, 60 oakland. a closer look at where these numbers are expected to go coming up and my next report. >> lanes open in marin county south 1 01, an accident occurred there earlier this morning and is now out of the traffic lanes. there may be a swelling e scene but i am no water concerned about this becoming a hot spot. watching the nimitz freeway where a simple stall is already backing up the ride northbound coming from 66 toward fifth. the stall was in the fast lane, that could account for the delays here. with any luck we will have it cleared fairly shortly. >> oakland police are expanding their search for missing oakland toffler daphne by all the web. her father has been arrested for child and a demand is being held on $100,000 bail. you're expecting a press

conference from the oakland police department and the latest on the investigation starting shortly. authorities continue to actively search for the 21 month old girl who went missing wednesday. for handing out fliers at gazzali's supermarket which is where the child was last seen. there been to locations that police are focusing their search is on. the first is martin luther king jr. regional shoreline park, which is a place daphne and her father visited frequently. the other location is a dollars, which she was sharing with her father and grandmother. >> we have two parallel investigations that are taking place right now. a very active missing person case and a parallel investigation regarding each child abuse, child endangerment. the child endangerment is a separate investigation and investigators will be actively following up on it.

it appears >> it appears a press conference will be getting underway any moment now. police are searching near the water in san leandro bay. yesterday the tide was too high so they will be headed back there tomorrow morning to search for evidence in the case. we will hopefully get more informations on the police department any moment now to find out more about the father's arrest and the child endangerment charges. also the search that has been ongoing. we'll go back live as soon as it happens. >> a fire broke out this morning as crews cleaned up the wreckage from asiana flight 214. here's a live look at the runway at s f o where earlier this morning crews and towed the plane. smoke could be seen coming from the site early this morning and the cause of the smoke has not been released. about 5:00 this morning, a large portion of the plane was in the process of being removed from the runway. the

airport or sat runway open by sunday. last my work got under way with great lifting large sections of the plane and the shell of the aircraft legally be cut up. some of the parts will be taken to washington d.c. for further analysis. congresswoman jackie speier along with sampras's go mayor ed lee and democratic minority leader nancy pelosi visited the site last night. the national transportation safety board held its final media briefing yesterday on a crash landing investigation. our new pictures that the ntsb released. a mysterious light that one of the pilot says he saw what has been a discussion any investigation. the ntsb reveal that the pilot told investigators that he saw the light about 500 ft. before the crash landing. >> neither of the other two flight crew members mentioned as light during

south bay, we still have a pretty good trip leading north on 1 01. that is about the only slow traffic you will find in the south bay. the ride on 87 looks good. no delays or problems through marin county and now that the accident with marin city has been cleared from the lanes. we had a little delayed briefly from the seminary drive turn off. the lanes were blocked with an accident that has been cleared. the bay bridge ride westbound, not much of a back up in a great commute to the upper deck. if you're headed to the san mateo bridge, smooth conditions here as well. the volume is up but the drive time has not climbed above 11 minutes. the golden gate bridge ride is busy in the southbound direction but we are problem free across the span. >> developing stories we have been following this morning, the defense presenting be closing arguments in the georgia zimmerman trial. the jury is just brought back into the

>> welcome back the time is 738 m >> a lot of the cloud cover is going to burn off a little sooner than what we saw yesterday. it is a great start at the golden gate bridge but you'll notice we're not dealing with the thick brown fog like we did yesterday. later on today, we are expecting mid to upper 80s and land and the base shores temperatures mostly in the '70s. a brief spike in temperatures as we head into the weekend but i will talk about the quiet, summerlike weather pattern in my next report. >> a quick check of the bridges as we look first at the bay bridge ride. what

the back up, there is not one. good news if you're headed west on how the macarthur maze or any of the other approaches. an equally good ride at the san mateo bridge. some of conditions though the volume is building. we're not tracking any hot spots currently. here's a look at your ride on 1 01 southbound, the golden gate bridge. it is a little busier than usual at this early hour but we are problem free across the span. >> we are wanting to go back to as at all where we are continuing our coverage of the plane crash of asiana flight 214. they just remove the plane off the runway this morning and a lot of smoke was seen. it isn't dead yet goal a spokesperson for s f zero joining us this morning. what the know about the smoke, was there a fire this morning? >> overnight we engage in the process to move the wreckage of of its resting

site. in doing that, we cut the wreckage and to major proportions to make it easier to move. at about 330 this morning we saw some smoke coming from one of the sections as we were moving it. we do not know the exact cause but we expect suspect it may be related to the cutting action. we have the equipment that is cutting through metal that creates a lot of friction and heat. we saw smoke but no fire. we had a fire crew standing by the entire time which would have put it out very quickly. we got all of the racket remove the area which is good news. we're hoping to reopen the runway by the end of sunday. >> is there any damage on the runway? >> there is a variety of elements that need to be addressed. we already started repaving the section of the runway that has been affected. we will work next on cleaning up debris and spilled jet fuel from the grassy area between the

runway and the pathway. there is still a lot of work to be done. >> some parts of the plane i heard going to washington d.c.. what will the rest of the parts be done with? are you throwing them away are they going somewhere else? >> that is correct the ntsb has already collected the items from the aircraft wreckage that the need for their investigation. the remaining elements that were moved are essentially the property of asiana for airlines. they can do what they wish with the remaining wreckage. >> there has been ongoing construction plan with the runways here. i their long- term delays as far as the vanishing up your projects? >> we are continuing to see delays associated with having the runways closed. it is similar to that kind we would experience on a bad weather day. we are experiencing delays on the average of about 45 minutes each day. the good as is

>> good morning, san francisco has approved plans for construction on to in the california pacific medical center hospitals in the city. a new 120 bed hospital will be billed at cpm c's existing st. luke's campus and the mission district and a new hospital with up to 304 beds would not be built on cathedral hill. a new agreement includes increased and contributions by the hospital group to the city for charity care and a

commitment fire at least 30 percent of san francisco residents for construction jobs on the new buildings. construction on the project will begin later this year with the demolition of an abandoned hotel currently at the cathedral hill location. >> california's prison system will not appeal to the state supreme court ruling eight invalidating the state's three drug cocktail means of execution. instead, the state said it would continue developing and execution protocol that uses a single drug. governor jerry brown has ordered prison officials to continue working on a single drug method rather than fighting to keep the three drug cocktail in place. california executions have been on hold since 2006, there are currently 275 inmates on death row.

>> closing arguments are now complete and the richmond gang rape trial. yesterday, a prosecutor called on the jury to follow evidence that a bridge and man played a key role in the savage 2009 gang rape of a teenage girl at richmond high school. the statements came at the close of the trial against jose montano 22, and 20 year-old marcellus peter o'connell on charges of rape. the charges stem from a gang rape of the 16 year-old girl and a courtyard on the richmond heights campus during a homecoming dance in october 2009.

>> a san jose police officer was charged with requesting and possessing sexually explicit photographs of a minor. 33 year-old tony fr egger turned himself in without incident. he was booked and released on $75,000 bail. he is in a year veteran of the force, assigned to the police department's sexual assault investigation unit. the prosecutors says he was not on the clock when the alleged crimes happen. fre gger is facing two felony charges and is currently on administrative leave. his arraignment is scheduled for july 27th. >> last fog is expected tomorrow, a slightly warmer conditions and as we look at had a comment typical bay area weather this summer pattern which includes

come and gone but some vendors are still waiting to be paid. organizers of the d may festival are facing two lawsuits seeking more than $700,000 for unpaid bills. that is on top of several other companies and agencies claimed they have yet to be paid. those companies range from catering businesses up for possible staff to transportation and portable bathrooms. a new transitional housing facility for homeless military veterans has opened. it has 120 beds available for homeless veterans and veterans who are ex-convict. they can stay for two years and have three meals a day. the facility will house both males and females. the veterans will have access to services such as an addiction that relapse prevention, money management and health care referrals to the u.s. department of veterans affairs.

cleaned up the wreckage from asiana flight 214. here's a live look of the runway at srfo where earlier this morning crews towed the plane. an airport spokesman told kron 4 new this morning that crews were cutting a part of the fuselage when crews saw smoke. early this morning, they towed the plane off the runway and are now making repairs to the runway itself. the airport hopes to open the runway by sunday. the shell of the aircraft will be cut up. with some of the parts going to washington d-c for further analysis. the national transportation safety board held its final media briefing yesterday on investigation. these are new pictures the n-t-s-b released. a mysterious light that one of the pilots says he saw has been a discussion in the investigation.
